Liang Xing

Ballet

Liang Xing began his professional ballet training at the age of 10 at the Beijing Dance Academy, studying under the renowned Vaganova training system. Upon graduation, he quickly rose to prominence, becoming Principal Dancer and a National First-Class Dancer of China just four years later—making him one of the youngest Principal Dancers in the history of the National Ballet of China.

In 2014, Mr. Xing joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as Guest Artist and, in the same year, was appointed Principal Dancer.

His artistry has been recognized internationally, including the Silver Medal at the 2009 Moscow International Ballet Competition. As a leading artist, Mr. Xing has performed principal roles on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Paris Opera House, Melbourne Arts Centre, Edinburgh International Festival, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Hamburg Ballet, National Arts Centre of Canada, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

He has worked with world-class ballet masters from the Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, and the Bolshoi Theatre. In addition to his performing career, Mr. Xing has choreographed original works including Tai Chi, Redemption, Looking for Freedom, and Who.

As a performer, he has danced nearly every major principal role in the classical repertoire, including: The Nutcracker* (Nutcracker) Giselle* (Albrecht) Dracula* (Dracula) Romeo and Juliet* (Romeo) The Little Mermaid* (Andersen) Swan Lake* (Prince Siegfried) …and many others.

Since 2016, Mr. Xing has dedicated himself to sharing his training philosophy worldwide. His ballet. training videos have been viewed over 5 million times, and in 2017 he pioneered a live-stream ballet training model. Today, more than 5,000 students study ballet online through Cloud Dance Academy, founded by Mr. Xing.

As Director, he has also expanded ballet education internationally, establishing schools such as Royal Principal Deer Ballet (Shenzhen), Royal Principal White Pigeon (Wuxi), and Royal Principal Ballet Academy (Vancouver, formerly NAPA). In 2017, he introduced his innovative Ballet Body Training program, now widely adopted by the New Red Dance Shoe Education System, which partners with approximately 2,000 affiliated schools. His training philosophy emphasizes: “Achieve the best results with minimal effort,” with the ultimate goal of helping students express their deepest emotions through music and perfect ballet technique.

Mr. Xing is a Certified RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) PDTD Teacher. Currently, as Director of Royal Principal Ballet, he has successfully led his students to the global finals of YAGP and ADCIBC, achieving top-three placements at regional competitions.
